About Us

The company was established and formed by Charlene Simaika, professional dancer from South Africa.

• History:  The company was formed by Charlene Simaika when she relocated to the Netherlands with her family. She is a professional dancer and started teaching Salsa at IHE Delft in September 2018.  The classes grew over time and she is currently teaching Salsa, Bachata, Rumba and Afro fusion at IHE Delft to their students at the institute.  Currently she is also teaching cultural African dances and Afro fusion at De Regenboog School to children from Groups 3 - 8.  She is also part of La Diferencia carnavals - & entertainmentgroep based in Rotterdam.  Charlene also perform at various events with a group named From Africa with love that she manages.  This was a dream come true, bringing people from different backgrounds and countries together and perform together. From Africa with love consist of dancers from Africa performing cultural and Afro fusion dances.
  

• Achievements:  Ballroom & Latin Dancer at Maties Dance Society at Stellenbosch University, South Africa.  Competed on a national level in different disciplines and excelled.  Advance Ballroom Trophy 2005, Latin Bronze Medalist 2003, Boogie Champions, South African National Student 2003 Ballroom & Latin Dance Competition, South African National Student 2004 Ballroom & Latin Dance Competition, South African National Student 2005 Ballroom & Latin Dance Competition.   Lead Dancer at the famous Cape Town Carnival since 2010 until 2017.  This has been an amazing experience for growth and development.  As a lead dancer we performed different type of dances and during this time, had the opportunity to dance at Jazz Art in Cape Town.  At Jazz Art we received professional Jazz classes, modern dancing and Afro fusion.  Charlene also managed her own dance studio in Stellenbosch where she taught Ballroom and Latin dancing, hip hop, Jazz, Afro fusion and African traditional dancing.
  

• Size:  We are currently a growing dance establishment and are looking forward to grow to our full potential in the Netherlands.  Offering classes in different dance styles. 
  
• Philosophy:  We at Charlene Simaika Dance believe that every one can dance if you put your mind to it.  There is no special requirements in order to dance and be part of our community of dance. Most importantly is to have fun.
